Real burgers...like made by hand!
Boom-a-rang Diner in McAlester wears the mid-century look well. Diamond-patterned chrome walls, black-and-white checkered floors, and red vinyl seats feel like a memory, even if it's not old. The name nods to the Boomers who once pushed into this land during the early land runs. Inside, the food is what you'd expect. Burgers, fries, shakes: greasy in the right way! The kind of meal that tastes better at a red counter under fluorescent lights.
What a jewel of a diner. There is a line and I see customers seated in this beautiful, clean restaurant. We drove 20 minutes out of our way to get here and will easily drive an hour just to come back. Sam is our beautiful server, the food and coffee are fantastic!
Service was poor by the few employees who waited on us. I've been here multiple times before and never experienced this before. Food wasn't really good for a patty melt and cheese curds. The server goofed up my order by not repeating the order and totally forgot about the fries and took 30 mins after I got my order to get my cheese curds by the time I got them.
