Two bartenders for 2+ rooms of patrons; slow service. Even when we arrived it wasn’t busy but still took considerable time for drinks to arrive. Small dining tables so would not suggest eating a full meal. Loud patrons and no sound dampening (wood floors, bare walls). Books are just for decoration.
Cute little quiet place to go to for specialty drinks. Tables of various lengths, so great for groups or smaller into my gatherings. Kitchen is open late.
We are visitors from out of the country staying at The Alexis Royal Sonesta, and I want to start by saying that we genuinely loved the hotel itself. Unfortunately, our experience at the Bookstore Bar & Cafe was the complete opposite and left us extremely disappointed. On our first night, we enjoyed a few cocktails and a bottle of wine. We didn’t realize that a mandatory 20% gratuity had already been added to our bill, so we unknowingly tipped an additional 20%.
