He explained he has plenty of work then quoted $600 for a couple of jobs that I knew would take 2 hours max. I did not engage his services. (I subsequently got a qualified carpenter to complete the work in <1 hour, and rounded up his pay to $100.) Just be careful, this person/company may opportunistically quote. Edit: correction, it was a $500 quote, but it was for two simple jobs (the main one adequately documented with photos) both of which were completed in 45min to high quality by a qualified carpenter.
