I love this place - my two pups are always excited to walk in the door and snack on the treats as we wait to see the vet! My older pup recently got a younger puppy brother, and he's been pretty strange for a bit since. We came in to see if it was just nerves or if he was hurt somehow, and first were met by Island, who did an amazing job getting our pup weighed in a calm manner (same weight!). I brought in my 3.5yo Shih Tzu mix, the other day and the veterinarian immediately pushed for him to go on one of the major four brands of dog food without knowing why I have him on the diet that he’s on. Not only was she focused on correcting my use of the word commercial when she knew what I meant but she is spreading misinformation. I gave them a 2 and only because the vet we saw in our initial visit was very nice and competent. Now, on to the not so good things. Their pitch is that your pet first wellness exam is free. I told them that we have two dogs when I made the appt. When I got there and checked in, I was informed that only the first pet is free… not the second… Nowhere did I read this and told them on the phone that I had difficulty claiming the free check on my second puppy. This week I had a very scary emergency with my golden - Dr. O’Brien was at Bond and treated him with more compassion and care than I’ve experienced at any vet in Alexandria. To that, I will always be thankful.
They were all so kind. They treated Dennie/Dino with so much love and help me with any questions I had. Dr. Meghan McIlwain Was so kind and gave me great recommendations with things. Dr. McIlwain also explained everything really well and showed so much patience with Dennie/Dino. Everything is reasonably price but I was a little shocked at the price at first but once I looked it all over and they ways they treated us I will be definitely keeping them as our go to vet!!
