It took me a long time to write this post unfortunately...almost 6 months to the day to be exact. We called Emily about coming to our home to euthanize our 14 year old fur baby and it was the hardest thing my husband and I have had to do. Emily was absolutely amazing. Dr. Emily came to our house to help us ease our dear border collie to the other side. I cannot put into words how much her care, consideration and patience meant to my family at such a difficult time. She took the time to explain the procedure to us in detail, gave us agency over the process, and made sure we had the time that we needed to say goodbye. We are forever grateful to Dr. Emily. We could not have asked for a better experience. Through the several phone calls where I was getting choked up she offered resources and guidance where she could, all with an incredibly calming and empathetic energy. When the day arrived to say good bye to my Koda Bear- she maintained her calming energy and gave us all the time we needed for the final goodbye. My dog fell ill in December and I could not find anybody who was willing to do a home euthanasia, especially during the pandemic. After several phone calls and a lot of lost hope, somebody gave me the number to Bond Creek. Unfortunately my pup did not make it until we could do the euthanasia (not due to any reason other than we didn’t know how quick she was going to go), but Emily let me bring my dog to her so we didn’t have to keep her body overnight.
