Wow I am surprised at these negative review's. Dr. Bonauto is always receptive to my needs as his patient and my medication schedule. He is NOT all about the money. In a crisis situation I dont even think he charges my insurance carrier. Does he make mistakes? Yes but we all do he is a human being. Most of the psychiatrists in RI are wack jobs. Kevin M Owen
Cannot overstate how disappointed we are. Tried to see this dr. twice. The first time there was a miscommunication about his location. It is very unclear online where he practices. He told us that he was in the same office as another dr we knew. We were unaware that they both moved to a different location. Rescheduled with him for a month later, my husband and I both took time off from work, drove 40 min over the infamous providence bridge, only to be told he left for the day. Dr Bonauto does not answer any calls from pharmacies for "personal reasons", so pharmacies cannot contact him if there are any issues with the medicine he prescribes, and there usually is due to "computer glitches" that result in Dr Bonauto not sending in scripts correctly or cases where he fails to obtain approval from insurance providers. Dr Bounato treats his patients like potential paychecks instead of people, refusing to talk with them over the phone or through text unless the topic involves scheduling paid meetings.
Dr Bonauto took his time while talking with me. He wanted to know about my history about my current illness. He was very patient and professional he made me feel very comfortable and listened to everything I needed to say. He was genuinely concerned about my well being! And I felt comfortable opening up to Dr Bonauto he was very easy to talk with and I finally found a doctor who I feel at ease with.
