Our gas boiler broke down on Christmas morning! Luckily we had some electric heaters with timers and also as it is a conventional boiler, we had the immersion heater as back up for hot water and a coal effect gas fire so made do until the 28th. I called Boiler Specialists on the morning of the 28th and Alan arrived later that morning and ascertained that the Gas Valve needed replaced. We had a leak from our gas boiler two weeks ago. Boiler specialists had serviced our boiler for several years therefore it seemed impolite not to go to them first. Alan the 'plumber' came out, advised the water input manifold had a hole in it and with the water pressure, could explode, causing untold water damage to our home. He wrapped a freezer bag around it and left in theory to source the part, with the parting advice to turn the mains water off at nights. After complaining that certificates were incorrect I was referred to as 'sweetheart' 'looneytunes' and 'claim merchant'... incompetent, rude and unpleasant...go elsewhere if you can
