sweet treats – I eat here all the time. Best food for value in Cobble Hill. Great Lamb chops. Try any and all desserts here they are all so good.

Bland and boring – I took a few friends to Bocca Lupo last weekend and we were sorely disappointed. The food is mediocre and the meatballs are served on bread which turned soggy. The mood is somber yet extremely loud (How is that possible you ask?). The floor and walls are cement and the seats are made of metal so anytime anyone moves all you hear is the the scraping of metal on cement. Most definitely not a place to relax or chill. Imagine taking a date there......eek! I haven't mentioned the food because there's not much t... read more

What's not to love? – I am in the fortunate position to be able to say that this is the closest restaurant to my front door. Bocca Lupo is jazzed enough for me to have lunch & dinner meetings with my clients, yet enough of a neighborhood joint for me to swing by for a quick espresso on my way out the door. Highbrow design concealing down-to-earth atmosphere & consistently delicious food -- who could ask for anything more? A well-crafted wine & beverage menu? Yup, they've got that, too. So what's with the negative reviews aro... read more

Love this place!! – We were introduced to Bocca Lupo by friends and we keep on going back! I love this place. The ambiance is great especially on the weekends when they have the DJ there. The owner is friendly as well. Sometimes a little crowded but what can you expect when the food is so good. The marinated olives are tasty (wish they were served with bread) and so are the brusetta dishes. I dream about the garbanzzo bean and olive tapenade brusetta (so want that recipe) and the tomato, gorganzola and balsamic glaze brusett... read more

BEST PANNINI – I consider myself a connoisseur of pressed sandwiches ever since my first trip to France and Italy 10 years ago and this is hands down the best I've ever had. The bread is the perfect amount of crusty and soft with just the right amount of fillings-- not too much and not too little. I personally favor the simple mozarella, pesto, and tomato which has been consistently heavenly EVERY single time I've had it. Plus, the sandwich is the ideal size. It leaves you completely satiated, but not stuffed.

Go for the Bread Pudding – My husband and I were there for lunch today. We each had one of the small sandwiches. I had the chicken tarragon and he had the egg salad and asparagus - dainty, but very good. We were saving up for the dessert we eyed on the way in - the bread pudding w/ mascarpone cheese and fresh berries. Awesome! One of the best desserts ever! We'll be back for dessert again, and soon.

Average – I expected this to be a sophisticated place - decor and ambiance and menu give that vibe. But screaming toddlers and kids all around quickly dissipate that image. The space is very loud and also very cold, both metaphorically and literally - dining on one of the coldest Feb nights we were freezing in our seats. Food was alright - comparing it to 'ino is fair, but a little salty for my tastes and just nothing to rave about. I specifically recall spending a lot of time looking at the menu waiting to find something th... read more

tight spot – First off, you should really check out this place before it gets the NYT Under $25 treatment, because once that happens it could be a challenge to get a weekend table (a black car from the UES isn't that far, as many in the hood know, i.e. Grocery, Chestnut, Porchetta). But I'm not bitter. Just a warning. I've enjoyed dinner at Bocca Lupo three times now and the food can we qualified as fresh and consistent, if not a bit derivative. All the food press has equated this spot with 'ino, which is a fair statement. A... read more

Not what I had hoped for – Went to dinner at Bocca Lupa for the first time and was not impressed. I found the cheese plate options very unexciting. When my date wanted to omit something from one of the panini sandwiches we were told that they were pre-made (??) and they would not accommodate. I ended up ordering a panini anyway, and it was soggy because the pesto had been sitting on the pre-made sandwich for who knows how long. It wasn't all disappoint, however. I had a delicious soup and the olive plate was excellent. Decen... read more
