DON'T go here - TERRIBLE service – First of all, why take a 10:30 reservation for 4 ppl when you can't seat us even at 11:30? When we arrived at 9:45 they even told us we were the only 10:30 reservation of the night and that we should be seated shortly. We sat at the bar and ended up ordering six drinks between the four of us. The host advised us that we should order appetizers at the bar and that they would compensate us for our wait. By 11 pm, we spoke with the manager and the host and they both apologized saying they woul... read more
Bocca di Bacco or Mantra? – The listing title is Bocca di Bacco, but the reviews are for a place called Mantra. The former is Italian (?) and the reviews are for sushi/pan-Asian. Which is it?
Pleasant Evening – Visited here for an early dinner reservation, we arrived a half-hour earlier and we were still seated which was great. It has a cool vibe and our waiter was very good (I just think he needs to button his shirt up more, his hairy chest was exposed too much). Our pasta dishes were very tasty, but too small we wanted more. For an appetizer we had calamari and it was okay (nothing special) and our dessert was an italian cheesecake which was again okay and nothing special. Our wine choice could have been better... read more
MY APOLOGIES – I MADE A MISTAKE POSTING MY NEGATIVE RATINGS, ITS DIRECTED TOWARDS MANTRA'S 2ND AVE LOCATION. I HAVENT BEEN AT THE 9TH AVE LOCATION HOPEFULLY ITS NOTHING LIKE THE OTHER
arrogant and rude staff, A VERY DISAPPOINTING EVENING – my friend had a brthday party at this place hoping that it will be an eventful evening with minimal stress since its a no name club. but that was the complete oppsit. got there early to prvnt any problems with the bouncers, that was true until i dcided to go out for a smoke later on. i was originally stamped to enter the but when i tried to reenter some pompous door clerk gave me a hard time telling me i needed a ticket to get in since they started distributing tickets ... read more
A great quiet place to enjoy fine japanese Sushi's-- try their Mantra roll – Highly recommend. NOt crowded, great assortment of designed sushis. Very nice service and good food. accomodating to large or small groups. Nice music too.
solid ! – good place for your usual dishes but also offers a twist of creativity if you're looking for something a bit different. . good for groups since you can either have your normal sushi & hot food or try something different if thats your thing. one of my favorites, the rock shrimp...it comes with a killer dipping sauce
What a treat!! – I went to Mantra over the weekend. I thought I fished out all the good spots to eat in Hells Kitchen but this one was hiding from me and it is truly is special. It is not your typical snobby manhattan restaurant. It's all about the food here...The service was excellent. The decor is humble. The food was great! I had the scallops and some sushi rolls. Try the Spicy Girl Roll. It's so tasty!!!!! You will have a good experience...
Fantastic Sushi!! – The sushi at this place is Great!!! Very fresh and they serve great inovative combinations! Since they are in the process of upgrading their decor, i wasn't expecting great food...but man, was I wrong! apparently the they stole a chef from over at Nobu and now he's doing his thing in Hell's Kitchen! The crispy shrimp aperizer was simply awesome!! and I can't remember the names of the dishes that I tried, but they truly were all delicious! I would definitely reccomend this place! they even have half price ... read more
