We had an awesome boat ride yesterday. Captain Bob was very knowledgeable. We made some fantastic memories. He even made a video for.us! It was a perfect experience. We highly recommend Captain Bob and plan to go again on a future visit to.Chicago. The boat was very clean. Captain Bob clearly makes safety a number one priority. He also entertained us throughout the journey with interesting facts and stories. We opted for his music selection and that was great, as well.
Boat setter please require some kind of etiquette training for the people running the boats. Captain Jim was verbally aggressive and attempted to use intimidation when he wasn’t happy with the first tip given to him. He gave a "free upgrade" to catamaran boat, that I now know was just a scam to try get avoid using this app to rent out the higher priced boat and pocket cash tips. SCAM BEWARE!!! I booked with AMANDA on Boatsetter. She scammed me, cancelled an hour before the celebration, THEN BOATSETTER TRIED TO GET ME TO BOOK AGAIN AND SPEND ANOTHER 1k. THEY ARE A WHOLE SCAM. They used my credit card to buy movie tickets and I had to dispute every single charge. Terrible experience, karma will come.
This company is a sham. The captain they provided was incompetent and caused a terrible experience for our friends on the water. NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR THE HEADACHE trying to deal with their support (or lack thereof).
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I could not recommend Boatsetter any less. The captain they assigned to our boat proceeded to run over another boat's anchor line halfway through our trip. My friends and I as the passengers had to push against the other boat to avoid any damage to either boat. We then had to get towed back to the harbor and our trip ended 45 minutes early. We were still charged for the full ride, and also got stuck paying to cover the rope/anchor the captain ran over.
