I dropped off my tax documents in late February. The April 15th filing deadline has now passed and my taxes are still not filed — entirely due to this office's lack of communication and follow through. My preparer "a certain CPA" first contacted me a few days before the deadline with questions. He told me he would have my return finished and sent to the reviewer by end of that day. We used this when it was John Freeman and everyone was kind but we didn’t feel things were thoroughly researched to get us the best refund. It was like a one and done type of conversation, which wasn’t a big deal last year but this year we needed a copy for our taxes this year and we’re charged $25 for an email copy. I just think that’s crazy.

BMF took over our former CPA’s client list this year, which is how we ended up at this office. I dropped off our tax documents 30 days ago and, despite multiple calls requesting a callback and several emails directly to Beth, I was never able to secure an appointment or receive clear communication. Waiting two weeks for a response is not acceptable when clients are trying to handle time-sensitive tax matters. Professional communication is the bare minimum. I sent an email saying "As I'm reviewing my tax returns from 2023 and 2025 I notice BMF charges $200 in 2024 and $450 in 2026. I have no changes in my tax documents. Why has the prices doubled and some?" The unprofessional response I received was, "Ashlynd, I’m sorry but our fees have risen since 2023 just like everything else has." I'll let you defer whether this is a company you'd like you entrust or not. 🙏Their reply did not answer my question.
