I went in and explained to the stylist I wanted my hair lightened in stages so my hair wouldn't be damaged to an extreme. Long story short on my third visit my hair was fried. The top layer of my hair is about three inches long and also all throughout my hair. My hair breaks off anytime I brush it and falls out in clumps.
