Get directionsMy dog was referred to PVSEC, by my regular vet, for an EMERGENCY. She was referred to PVSEC because she suddenly lost the ability to walk, go to the bathroom and was in extreme pain/agony. Working in the medical field, I know these drastic and sudden changes are emergent and should be dealt with in a timely manner. PVSEC website even states "When you have a pet emergency, seconds count" but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Dr. Sowy did not deem this case "emergent" and would not order an MRI. As a medical profession... read more
Very frustrating that treatment & tests will not move forward until the financial coordinator calls to get payment. Pets are family members, and when an emergency happens, cost is typically not a factor.
I would give this a minus 10 if I could. My dog experienced a traumatic injury early Saturday night. I loaded my dog in the car and headed for HOPE as it was recommended I go there by a friend who happens to be a veterinarian. On the way I called them to let them know I was coming and what the injury was. My dogs eye was fully out of the socket. First, I was put on hold and then I was told they couldnt help me but they could give me phone numbers to call. I WAS DRIVING this was an emergency. This is a 24 hour 7 day a ... read more
WORST PLACE EVER!! We rushed our cat there as it was emergent he was not eating but vomiting. I PAID $1875 to have my cat admitted was told x-rays, blood work and other test were included as well as his stay on the estimate. I paid with no problem so he could receive care. 24 hours later I still have no reciept of payment. Than was told I needed to pay 500 more for an altra sounds and another 500 for X-rays. Now when he was admitted we advised them that he was biting his tail never was that addressed. So after they asked fo... read more
No one wants to hear your animal needs emergency surgery let alone finding this out late in the evening on our 17 month old puppy. Knowing our veterinarian highly recommended BluePearl and with our previous experience with Dr. Ferrell, it put our mind at ease during a very stressful time. Dr. Ferrell provides excellent care and is dedicated to helping animals when they are at their worst. The 24/7 availability makes it possible to go in for an emergency and check on the status of your pet day and night. Dr. Chris Ferrell d... read more
No matter what, do not take your pet to Blue Pearl. I received a diagnosis and was told that surgery and biopsies were necessary for my pet's wellbeing. After $6200 worth of surgery, the diagnosis was incorrect, and surgery was unnecessary. Blue Pearl accepts zero responsibility in this matter, despite reviewing it with the Medical Director and other management members. I am thankful that my pet has recovered from the experience of care from this for-profit facility.
Unfortunately it forces me to give them a star. I would give them negative stars if I could. Do not go here. I brought in my cat to try and find out what was wrong with his eye. I was concerned he could lose it. I explained my situation and was given an appointment. As soon as I got there I was met with an intake person triaging animals. So if your animal is not extremely ill you are not allowed in. And even then I think they would try and make you prove it. This facility used to be available if a primary vet was no... read more
My dog has a mast cell tumor on his leg. I was referred to Blue Pearl by my local vet. I have dealt with 2 vets at this location for another dog with good care. After paying $3,000 and more for tests and meds, my dog still has his tumor and for him to have it removed and have further precautionary medications it will cost over 3,000 for surgery and more for further treatments. I am very unhappy with the judgement of Dr. Sharon Shor who seemed more interested in tests and his ideas of what else my sweet dog needed than i... read more
We had an emergency with one of our guinea pigs, and took the long drive for service. They are following all COVID protocols, so we called upon arrival. The staff was professional and kind. We were informed it would be at least an hour and a Doctor would call with an update. This time frame was accurate. The doctor was kind and professional going over all of the options. It was a tough situation, and we knew this going in. We decided to get a second opinion, for our own sake, but I thought that the staff and Doctor did a com... read more
