Technologically Savvy When I was refered to this office due to kidney disease brought on by diabetes, I was scared and just wanted it fixed. Of course there was no quick fix, but I found myself smiling when my doctor entered the office with all these pieces of technology. Mind you, this was about 3 years ago, but the nurses don't have those charts to put info down on, they have laptops that they carry under their arms. The doctor doen't have a drug interaction book, he has his PDA. He doesn't write prescriptions, he taps them into his "palm" and somehow it appears in your hand as you sign out. It was hilarious. As it turned out, I had a doctor only a couple doors down who was fond of using his scalpel on patient and I fondly call him Dr. Hatchet. Well the Dr. in this Nephrology office I affectionately call Dr. Gadget.
