Recently, I went to the Blue Mercury U village location and was made to feel uncomfortable by the staff. I heard someone call her Sasha- who kept glaring at me while I was being helped by another staff member. As a person of color, the options available for my skin tone are already limited here. Will never go here again. Very young black woman employee absolutely did not listen, basically talked to herself in long ridiculously complicated monologues. You know the type of person who intentionally speaks in the most complicated way they can, because they think it makes them sound smart? Even though they're not really saying anything, just using a lot of big marketing-speak words that companies made up? Pre-programmed robot incapable of human rapport. Yeah, the worst. Me and my friend went in to the Blue Mercury in the University Village recently. We are teenagers and were looking for gift ideas for our mothers. Not only were we met with disapproving stares but we felt judged the entire time. It is because of this we aborted our mission and left, present-less. We will be taking our business over to Sephora where we can be met with the respect and care we deserve. 🔜

I live in Olympia and we don’t have a Bluemercury here. I usually use their website to place orders. Also, It was my first time visiting a store and made an consulting appointment. The lady who helped me was very friendly and professional. I really enjoyed my mini skincare service. I purchased one of the items she recommended and she got me a free sample which is nice. My trip to Seattle was worth it. Thanks :)
