Today I sat next to on a flight from Newark to Salt Lake City, a boy who was about 12 years old (wearing a cape cod sweatshirt, Jordan sweatpants and had braces), being flown to this or one of these camps in Idaho. they curate a group think mindset by withholding necessities if you dont do what they want, which causes your groupmates and only peers/friends to turn on you for withholding necessities from them. at bluefire they hiked a LOT, and if you don't hike, you don't get to the food and water(this is the case for most programs though).

blueFire was a saving grace for our family. Our kiddo has complex issues. As an organization AND individual staff continually went above and beyond in keeping our kiddo safe and cracking open some of the deep issues. The weekly support was so important. Especially in the first 48 hours, we were terrified and they gave us personal updates consistently to help us manage our own anxieties. blueFire also had a full neuropsych evaluation including ASD done on site and we finally got a major diagnosis that we haven't gotten before... read more
