My son's experience at Blue Fire i late 2024 was hugely transformative. He was in a very bad and very scary place upon entering this program. I credit Blue Fire with so many positive changes for him. I am thankful everyday he went. The staff were amazing and provided exactly what he needed. Highly recommend!
My son had a good experience and benefitted from Bluefire wilderness program, as did I. There were however a few problems : I was not allowed to visit him, he got frost bitten toes which remain damaged years later, and his English assignments blew away in the wind so he got no credit.
My daughter's experience at BlueFire was that of transformation, accountability, and ownership of her powerful voice. After several years since camp, she continues to reflect on her time at BlueFire as challenging and yet remains steadfast in her belief this was one of the happiest times of her life. This was a really hard decision but now 10 years later we are seeing results that I could have never predicted. Our son is thriving and has a set of tools for life that was learned at Blue Fire. The road has had its ups and downs even after Blue Fire and being away from him was really hard. It may not be apparent at first but our family benefited greatly from the program at Blue Fire. It has taken many years but my 26 year old son now thanks me for having sent him here and we have both grown and become closer because of Blue Fire.
