I grew up going to Blue Star Camps, and now my own kids get to experience the same magic which is incredibly special to me. At camp, every single day brings a new adventure, and the setting in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains makes it all even more unforgettable. My son attended last summer and will be going back this summer with his little brother. When I picked him up the first thing he said was, “Mom, I wanna go all summer next year” (as he only went one session). That’s the best thing you can hope for as a parent-that your child feels safe, happy and truly enjoys themselves. He was too busy to even write me a letter! Blue Star Camps has been our sons’ home away from home 7 years. Seth and Lauren are beyond terrific leaders who truly have found their calling, and it shows in every aspect of the camp — from the incredible staff to the warm, positive environment they create. They are incredibly responsive and caring with parents, and exceptionally thoughtful when it comes to handling conflict resolution and supporting campers through challenges. Our child went to Blue Star and was physically assaulted and bullied by another camper; the camp investigated, acknowledged that the event did happen owing to a lack of supervision, and will be allowing the other camper to return with no concern for other campers’ safety going forward. Their policies around safety and bullying are not enforced, and our child will not be returning. I love it here. Best place ever my second home you would never find somewhere like this . You learn skills you can use your whole life and figure out who you are . Blue star becomes your family even if you never knew those people before in a matter of seconds you become family. I suggest this camp to everyone
