We had an amazing stay at Blue Shutters Inn! It was our first time staying in a bed and breakfast, and we absolutely loved it. The inn was so quaint, cozy, and charming — it truly felt like staying at a family member’s home. The decor was beautiful and coastal, and every morning’s breakfast was fresh, gourmet, and delicious. My husband and I always go to Maine in the first week of October for our anniversary, and decided to try The Blue Shutters Inn. I was impressed right away by the way we were greeted, the fact that we were walked to our suite, the homeade cookies and water our room as well as the path to the Marginal Way with a beach right at the end. A boutique motel with a comfortable bed in an old building. The street is very quiet, though you can hear the rumblings of guests in other rooms and the machinations of the building. I think the shower was installed when my parents were children. Not typically a place I'd feel compelled to review, but the people were so lovely that I had to. Our five-night stay at the Blue Shutters Inn was absolutely wonderful! Everyone went above and beyond with personal touches that made us feel truly welcome. Susan is the heart of the Inn. She treated us like family. The entire property is spotless, beautifully decorated, and detail-oriented—every corner feels inviting and thoughtfully designed.
