Beware. If you do not have insurance and your doctor creates an estimate thru my UNC chart for surgery it means nothing. We were verbally quoted 3-5K, and then an estimate was submitted for 8k. We ended up being billed for 19K out of pocket (that included a 40% discount). This is was for a 1 hour non emergency benign skin removal surgery handled at Grace Hospital's Surgery Center. It was under review for 4 months regarding coding and me disputing the price versus what was quoted. They will not honor the quote. Had we known h... read more
