Amy is an incredible guide - extremely good at navigation and always has safety in mind. This is such a relief to me as a small business owner with not a lot of time to research trails. I trust her completely! She has so much thru hiking experience there is tons to learn from her and her recommendations always fit what I am looking for whether it is training or getting to see the beautiful nature in WNC.
I am still reeling from my 2 night, Max Patch backpacking trip. It was truly one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. I chose the women’s Max Patch trip having never been backpacking before, and knowing I would be going solo. I had done plenty of short day hikes, but I had no idea what to expect from a backpacking trip. It was definitely challenging, but in the best possible way. I hiked the Max Patch Women’s Backpacking Trip Aug. 18th-20th. We had perfect weather. The highlights of the trail were the views on top of Max Patch, sunset from Walnut Mountain, colorful mushrooms around every corner, crossing rocky water paths, navigating tree roots across the trail, and sunrise from the comfort of my tent ⛺️ By far my favorite part of the trip was spending it with the other ladies. We had a group hike, and it was one of the most wonderful things we did in Asheville. Amy was a fantastic guide and shared so much of her knowledge about the local plants and trees, which my wife was especially interested in. The hike was at a moderate pace, making it enjoyable for us. We had such a great experience that we’re already thinking about signing a backpacking trip the next time we visit! It seems very interesting to do and challenging(before getting too old to do)
