I made an appointment here for my husband a while back to have a bit of extensive work done. He was very unsure about getting it done because he didnt want to be judged. He had spent years depressed and his teeth were pretty bad. So you can imagine how disheartened he was when he showed up and was gocked at and the dentist even went as far as to say. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Chao during a hiking trip in Roanoke, and I truly appreciate how kind, considerate, and knowledgeable she is. Throughout our hike, she patiently answered dental questions from many of us in the hiking group—no matter how basic or trivial they might have seemed—always with warmth and genuine care. I was surprised to learn that she works at Real Life Dental - Salem, as I didn’t realize we had a "Real Life Dental" in our area. I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Chao over the phone regarding a dental procedure, and I was incredibly impressed by her compassion and professionalism. She patiently took the time to thoroughly explain the process to me, ensuring I understood every detail, even though I ultimately couldn’t proceed with her clinic due to my insurance not being accepted. Her kindness and willingness to help, despite knowing I wouldn’t be her patient, truly stood out. Highly recommend her for her outstanding dedication to patient care!
I do not give 1-star reviews often. I was a patient of this practice from very early on (2010?). I left because of how they treated me. I had made an appointment 6 months in advance and they cancelled it because I didn’t “reply yes” to their courtesy reminder of the appointment. When they cancelled, I quickly replied that I did want my appointment (which is why I made it in the first place) and didn’t understand why they felt the need to cancel an appointment.
