I was admitted to the ED by ambulance (BTW, those paramedics are the most amazing human beings!) yesterday morning with what I suspected was a heart attack. Lots of pain. Lots of anxiety. Lots of stress. After lots of tests (ECGs, BPs, Xrays, Bloods, etc etc etc), I was finally discharged by the most lovely lady doctor who was taking care of me the whole time. Getting to see a Dr. in the emergency department take 4-5 hours. Due the the condition I was in, twice I couldn't be sitting there and had to leave without seeing a Dr. As I am living near by I suggested to come in, be first evaluated by the triage nurse, go resting at home and wait for a phone call when I reached my turn in the que regrettably, this option is not available. They simply rather see you leave without being seen by a Dr. One less patient to deal with!!!
As I said doctor's should never dignose your parent is going to die soon my dad went to specialist at Nepean hospital cancer specialist and told him he had hope and dad has picked up so much so be careful with your words talking to your patient and Family
I am a extremely frequent visitor due to my mountain biking habits only thing is, because of how great the service is there, its always extremely busy, unless you are about to die or in extreme pain, find yourself waiting around 4 hours.
