Sara is a gift. If there were more stars, I would give them all to her. With knowledge, advocacy, and compassion, Sara has made our tumultuous journey in end stage kidney failure manageable. Before Sara, we were afraid to eat. Now we feel not only safe but empowered to enjoy cooking and eating delicious meals together.
I found out my CKD diagnosis several months ago. I was literally in an emotional panic about what to do. I quickly realized I needed the help of a dietitian who specialized in Chronic Kidney Disease and found Sara online. Her specialty is helping people like me make sense of their CKD diet. After my diagnosis, I felt discouraged, scared and lost. Sara allowed me to express my fears and helped me understand my new diagnosis as not a death sentence but something I needed to pay attention to.
