Having strong foot muscles are important These muscles are used to control motion of the foot (pronation and supination), support the arch, to fine tune balance and stability, and to provide a stiff lever to push off of during walking and running.

Toe Touches are a great exercise to improve balance and single leg stability. Reach down with the opposite hand to the leg you are standing on to keep your hips and body square.

Ankle inversion is a great exercise to keep the arch strong, which can he helpful in preventing plantar fasciitis and tendinitis in the foot. This exercise set up confuses a lot of our patients, but your leg is only crossed to hold the band in the correct line of pull.

Today's exercise is Ankle Eversion. Keeping these muscles strong can help to prevent ankle sprains. Make sure to keep the knee from rolling outward to maintain good form.

Exercise is included in all guidelines for the treatment of chronic pain. Our physical therapists will help you develop strategies to manage pain and understand how pain is a build in alarm system that with chronic pain is often too easily triggered.
