Alcohol was absolutely going to kill me, had I not found Blue Heron Recovery! From the first day, (although terrified not knowing what to expect) I felt very welcomed and safe. The facility is in a beautiful location surrounded by nature. I never felt a "hospital or jail" vibe. There is a brand new detox center and outpatient treatment available. I attended this treatment for outpatient and I was only able to be there for a few days due to some personal issues, but I will never forget the compassion, and genuine kindness , and such willingness to help me. It was a blessing during such a terrible time in my life. Thank you for your help. The scenery was beautiful, and the meals were delicious. The staff was phenomenal. The groups and activities were helpful , and fun. I highly recommend this center to anyone who is interested in getting better.
I started my adventure into recovery, reaching out blindly for help, and didn't know where this all would go.. I can say today I am comfortable in my recovery and interested in helping others recover.. I have been a fan of Blue Heron since they launched! I love what they do and seriously love their location. Now they have a medical detox on top of everything else - which is a major addition to the continuum of care and a much needed addition of detox beds available in San Antonio. Hurray for Blue Heron and their excellent staff. Recovery is possible!
If you are looking for a beautiful and safe space to recover from substance use and mental health issues, Blue Heron is a welcome respite. I have been through their detox and PHP program and couldn't ask for more. Patient's needs come first at this facility. The staff is understanding, caring, and will go above and beyond to make sure you get the best treatment at a pace that is most comfortable for you.
