If I could leave less than a one rating, I would. It seems BC/BS is guilty of not only deceptive advertising to get you to sign up for one of their junk plans and then do everything humanly possible to deny claims. Criminal.
Total garbage insurance. Its through our employer and this insurance basically makes you go through 20 steps to get something approved. For instance, my OB was in network but her hospital where she delivers at was not and we did not find this out until AFTER delivery. If it wasnt for an emergency induction, the whole thing would have not been approved. We had BCBS of ** prior and they were way better, its like its not even the same company.
They obviously don't care about people. A medicine that my daughter has been on for years has suddenly been deemed as needing a prior authorization. I requested a refill 5 days ago and my daughter has run out of her medicine since then. The pharmacy informed us after we had requested a refill that it now needs prior authorization. So, we call the Dr and the doctor submitted their info. 5 days after submitting refill request still no response (with daily calls to Dr & pharmacy). Wish I could give lower rating. Moved from TN to KY. One rep stated I had 6 months under current coverage. Just found out I have 1 month to get new plan in KY. Tried getting pre-authorized for gabapentin. From 2/07 until 2/15/2019 they gave me the run around. Worst customer service ever, no response to voice mssg. Signed with ****** today. Excellent service and coverage vs. Blue Cross Blue shield of TN.
I had a simple request. I wanted to get a copy of my client's insurance policy. Instead of helping me out, Tennessee BlueCross BlueShield gave me the run-around and did everything they could to stump my requests. I eventually spoke with legal counsel for Tennessee BlueCross BlueShield. She was rude, condescending, and unhelpful. I would expect more from a company paid to help their insured. They are terrible to work with.
