Anthem BCBS of MN has now seemingly reneged on their approval of portions of my completed surgery after approving everything via the preauth my surgeon/surgeon's office filled. Their bs reasoning: "Procedures and supplies determined to be currently under study or not generally accepted by the medical community are not eligible under the patient's coverage. Terribly disappointed in what use to be a fabulous insurance carrier. Blue Cross Blue Shield has sunk to a new low and no one is happy. I wonder if they read the reviews. It use to be that when you go to the doctor, everything is covered. Your doctor refers you somewhere, everything is covered. No you have to call for EVERY.SINGLE.PROCEDURE AND/OR NEW CLINIC. I wanted to acknowledge a customer service representative named Kathy. I have never received such attentive, clear, and caring regard from someone at BCBS, or any insurance provider, before.
