Need a medically necessary MRI? Denied. Need someone to explain your coverage over the phone? Spend an hour of having them saying "I've explained to you your benefits" while not explaining them because they barely understand it either. Signed up for a plan with a fixed copay? Oh boy, are you in for a rude awakening with random bills and dollar amounts sent to you that don't add up to the plan you signed up for. Their website is always down or experiencing difficulties. They have billed the incorrect amount in premiums after plan change though they reduced the benefits to reflect the plan change. Blue Shield used to be a very good insurance company. I'm not sure why it has declined in such a manner.
