I found Blue Bird in the most unconventional way, but it ended up being exactly what our family needed. At the time, I was driving my undiagnosed 2 1/2 year old child back and forth to private OT and speech therapy appointments in Oak Park 2X a week during the day, all while trying to manage my own full-time job. My daughter has been with BBD North Center for 3 years, enrolled pretty early on as a 2 year old. She has ASD, GDD, feeding difficulties and ADHD. They came highly recommended by OTs from EI and from colleagues at UIH. So far my daughter has had astronomical leaps in communication, social emotional skills, self regulation, and academic (kindergarten) skills. My daughter has been attending Bluebird, and I’ve been so lucky to have had truly amazing therapists throughout her journey there. Blue Bird Day has been a wonderful experience for our child. The team at Blue Bird is truly remarkable in the work that they do and the love and care they provide.
