Very cozy place, the Baklava so good, Turkey coffee is delicious, really like it
I was riding on the Econ trail and saw the Blue Amphora on the map. I’m so glad we took a detour and checked it out. I’m not an expert in balaclava’s, but I definitely had the best one I have ever tried! I don’t know the name of the other dish, but it had coconut and pistachio flakes on top of a pudding? It was amazing as well. I’m going back someday to try the homemade cheesecake. Coffee was on point too.
When I am in Orlando, I stop here to get kunefe. The owner always packages it carefully for travel. I have also gifted the baklava to many friends. They are always raving about the Nutella baklava. The other ones are also very very good. My personal favorite is the tahini baklava. This place is the only place I’ve ever seen this. And the owner told me she has been making this for a while.
I know what you’re thinking, another Middle Eastern store, but do yourself a favor and go in. The smell of the place is truly intoxicating and one look at the glass display cabinet makes you realize this is craft, truly a cut above yet reasonably priced. I stopped in and got a piece of cheese borek, which the very hospitable man offered to heat up for me. The cheese pull sounded tempting but I planned on having it for breakfast on my way to work in the car, and I still had fresh memories of egg yolk in my beard, so declined.... read more
