I had BLR hotrods replace the engine & transmission in my 1996 Tahoe (along with a few other things - fuel pump, brakes, etc). It was much less expensive than the other shops I quoted. Its been about 6 months and 3k miles since and I haven't had to go back - I'd call that a success! I've also had work done on my 2003 2500HD to have broken exhaust studs repairs and fix a few leaks.

They don’t honor their warranty. About a year ago we put my 1995 4Runner in that shop to have a new engine put in it. Took about three months more than the “three weeks” they told us but that’s fine. 6 months later The car began to leak gas through the injectors. We took it to out local shop and they said the fuel wasn’t the only thing leaking. Power steering line, brake fluid, oil, and coolant were also leaking.
