Liz and Heidi were amazing at making feel comfortable for my first platelet donation. Little did they know I would keep things interesting for them, sorry my veins were being difficult! I had to wait 30 minutes before I went back, but that stuff happens. I am booked for 3 more appointments here. You all are doing great!
I have been donating blood every year on my birthday for the past 25 years. I also donate on Valentines Day as well as Christmas. For me, it’s a tradition rooted in gratitude—God has granted me another year of life, and it only feels right to give back, knowing that even one pint of blood can help save up to three people. Spectacular site and Amazing crew! I felt welcomed and at home! I wanted to do a Power Red Donation, but, my hemoglobin wasn't high enough. So, I did a Whole Blood Donation, not bad at all! I Love helping save lives!!
My appointment today was at noon. By the time I read the check-in material and they scanned my id it was 12:17. They told me I was too late and needed to reschedule my appointment. I asked what the cut-off time was. They said 15 minutes. I was 2 minutes past the 15 minute check-in cut off time and was sent away. Apparently this Red Cross donation center did not want my donation because I was 2 minutes after the check-in cut off time. I have donated 50 pints of blood. I made my first visit to the Bloomfield Hills American Red Cross facility this past weekend to donate through the aphaeresis process. I was very happy with my experience. The staff was overly welcoming, polite, friendly, and engaged in fun conversation. I was treated very well and I greatly appreciate that. I definitely will be returning to give my future donations to the Bloomfield Hills office and their great staff. Thank you!
