This is not a company you should ever do business with. Buyer beware. They are clearly a startup with no clear leadership and just awful and unprofessional contractors they are using. It’s been over one year now and i have overpaid tremendously for lackluster customer service and a refrigerator that after 2 replacements still doesn’t work properly. We were very happy with our overall experience with Block and our contractor for our kitchen + laundry room renovation. It was important to us that we worked with a trustworthy contractor and knowing that Block already vetted them, made the process a lot less stressful. The design process was streamlined, our only critique is that it felt a little rushed and it would have been helpful to have more time with the designer (hence the 4 stars).
I decided to renovate with Block and could not be happier with the result. I asked for a full gut renovation including a tub to shower conversion in my NY apartment and they completed the project in under 4 weeks! I'm extremely happy and would recommend to anyone looking to remodel.
We renovated our Co-OP building lobby and common areas using block. This was my second time hiring block and I had a fabulous experience. Block tailored the process to the buildings needs, which included renderings, assistance with material selection and quantity calculations, as well as payment installments and clear breakdowns of costs along the way. Tl; dr - Don’t bother with Block. I’ll keep this brief: Block saved me from decision fatigue at the beginning of the project through the option to use one of their template designs and by matching me with a contractor. But that is the only upside. At the end of the day, they became a third party that stood in between my contractor and me with regard to payments, and there was barely any project accountability.
