My great grandfather sandor fekete was the last tender and lived there. Spent so many summers with family swimming in the canal, fishing and family picnics.
Historic house. It is still standing so it's got that going for it.
I rode my bike from the Blackwells Mills Canal House down the tow path to the area around the Rockingham House. The ride was very scenic along the way. The Millstone Valley visitor center was also very interesting. The docent there was very informative, as well.
A place of serenity and supreme beauty in the center of New Jersey. A true treasure. Grew up riding up and down the D & R canals. It has never gotten old, and it is always more beautiful than the last time. Just beautiful.
