A very serene wildlife drive. We went 10 am in early September so there wasn’t a tremendous amount of activity. Would definitely bike next time during peak season.
Easily one of the best bird watching spots on the Delmarva.
Amazing refuge with a great driving tour and stops to wildlife watch. It’s totally worth a few hours to enjoy the environment. The visitor center is great and the staff was outstanding.
Spend an ample amount of time so you can truly appreciate and begin to extrapolate a sort of understanding for all the unique and diverse wildlife this destination has to offer.

This refuge has good eagle viewing in winter and throughout the year with a healthy breeding population .
This beautiful refuge has a number of shore birds and dabbling ducks. You'll also have a great chance of spotting a bald eagle.
East of this refuge, a marker shows the site where Harriet Tubman spent her childhood years. Visit the village store where Tubman is said to have first helped a slave avoid capture.
Support the wonderful gift shop & book store. Run by volunteers, 100% of proceeds goes back to support the wildlife refuge.
