I just learned Dr. Penkala retired! I would like to thank him for being the best OB/GYN anyone could ever have! You were there for me when I was trying to have children and you found that I had a tubal blockage and surgically fixed it. I still had problems trying to get pregnant and you prescribed fertility pills to help.. after a period of time I got pregnant and unfortunately had a miscarriage, you were there for me and cared for me then. I will never forget this man's face for the rest of my life. I had a cyst on my ovary and he told me that he would try to save it. I woke up from surgery and he told me that he took both my ovary and tube, that I was 33 & had an IUD so I wasn't planning on having more children anyway, while he was watching a football game. Even though I had pleaded that he try and save it. He told me that my other tube was clogged and it's simple to clean it out but he didn't because he said I wasn't having more children. Overall Great Experience Although on one occasion, I did notice him yelling at his office staff and was taken aback; he was always gentle, patient, kind, respectful, professional and informative with me and my particular circumstances in office exams as well in several in-hospital procedures. He was referred to me by my primary doctor as a very good surgeon. As of December 2019, he has retired. Best wishes Dr. Penkala.
