I’m extremely disappointed with our experience at this cheer gym. My daughter suffered a serious injury and couldn’t participate for a while. Instead of showing any understanding or allowing us to pause payments until she was able to return, they still demanded that we pay the full monthly fees even though she couldn’t take part in practices or activities. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a cheer gym. As a Black girl, I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome here. There seems to be an expectation that athletes should have bone-straight hair, and natural hair is not treated the same. The coaches told everyone they needed to have straight hair, which felt unfair and inappropriate. Because of that, it felt like girls with natural hair were being avoided or singled out.
