From the rude and entitled hostess/owner, down to the obnoxious table staff, this place was the pits. The food quality was poor, the place was filthy, there were bugs, and most importantly, the customers were abused for it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Great Place, Great Food, Reasonable Prices – Great place, friendly atmosphere and, good food!! The staff is wonderful, service great and wait time not too bad. Never had a bad experience. We look forward to dining there. and recommend One of our favorite restaurants on LBI. Thanks for the good food and service.

Fish rots from head down – If you don't know the staff at Black Whale, don't bother going... they'll treat you like bad fish tossed back into the ocean. Their salty demeanor is so obvious, the owners must be aware and/or condone it. This is a flophouse for locals.

Poor Service, Food with mold spores – I went there on vacation and had my worst dinning experience ever. First, I ordered food and it did not arrive with the rest of our parties food. Then a member of our party received a mussel with three mold spores and mold entirely covering the inside. It was the most horrendous thing I have seen at a restaurant. Best seafood and service in LBI – The atmosphere is cozy. The owners are great and the manager is a sweetheart. I highly recomend this place on LBI. Long wait but it always seems to work out. It is way worth the wait. The place is family run and you can feel it when you eat there.
