I have a customer for over 15 years. Recently I had a banking issue so I was approximately two weeks behind on my payment. I normally pay a month in advance with an amount slight higher than my bill normally is. Yesterday, I received a call from their “collections” saying I was behind and it wasn’t typical for me. DO NOT choose an apartment that uses Black Hills Electric and their company, do your research before renting. This is the absolute worst company, they price gouge, they discriminate and their prices are insanely inflated compared to other utility companies. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
Came home to a power outage and when I called to get an estimate on the fix I was not given even a rough timeframe for a fix. 1 star for unreliability in terms of communication.
Customer support is very rude and argumentative.
The worst electric company I’ve ever had. I had a 1 bed 1 bath apartment. Bill was constantly $140, and I have the AC off most days. I have Black Hills Energy now, way better. I have a 2 bed 2 bath, and I pay $58 at Black Hills Electric. I would stay away from Black Hills Electric Coop at all costs.
