This may be well after the fact, but I was just bragging again about how Black Forest Fire & Rescue took in dozens of folks stranded by the infamous "Bomb Cyclone" a couple years ago. Even with my good 4x4 the roads were impassable, so they opened their doors so folks could get out of the winter Colorado was throwing at us. They fed us what they could, gave out blankets and water, etc. Some may say, "That's their job."
