Black Eyed Susans is one of our absolute favorite restaurants on LBI, and it keeps us coming back every time we’re on the island. One of the best things to come out of COVID was the addition of the outdoor patio. We love sitting outside, especially on a beautiful summer evening. We were visiting LBI and reserved this place well in advance, including a call to confirm them being pet friendly. Confirmed our res in advance with the restaurant. Arrived and were told that dogs were not permitted in the outdoor tented area, and offered a picnic table by the boulevard. Needless to say, we declined. Shameful performance. Just went over memorial day weekend for the first time with friends. There were two open seats at the bar that me and my friends went to sit and stand at and was then treated extremely disrespectful by the hostess who was bringing through customers as she was yelling at me and my friends to move to a waiting area and there were customers eating so we couldn’t stand at the bar. Went with our friends for the first time and immediately got yelled at by the hostess in front of everyone for standing at the bar after being there for maybe 30 seconds. She was the rudest person and did not care to even help us out. We walked out and look in the window to see her “clients” happily standing at the bar after she told us to go to the standing section that was the size of a bathroom.
