Sometimes there are meals that you smile when you remember, and this was one of them. Fantastic restaurant. Our host Piotr went above and beyond. The service was impeccable and we really felt take care of. It's hard to feel that these days. PS Try the chocolate mousse.
Nice well curated french inspired restaurant. Portions are good, however the quality of the food is where we have mixed reviews. The fries tasted like they came out of a frozen bag, the flat iron steak was badly cut and sinewy, the carrots were very hard to eat, whereas the duck confit and the venison were acceptable. The service also was not attentive, we had to ask twice for steak knives (which were not given with the meat) and for wine and for water refills. Went for my birthday dinner and was warmly welcomed and promptly seated by the bar, lovely table! Opened with cocktails, a Kir Royale and a Vodka Martini, accompanied by comte gougeres and egg-mayo-anchovies. Crab crumpet is to die for and the mussels flatbread remain undefeated. Small place, tucked down a side street in Shoreditch. Yes it's a bit noisy and the tables are close together but the food, the food!! Our meal was fabulous and they handled my gluten allergy patiently and carefully. The "snacks" of egg mayonnaise and a grilled pork skewer were delicious and the main courses even better.
