Recently had a very positive experience with Martin and his team. Don’t normally associate a small optical shop with great pricing and service but these guys easily had both. Thoroughly recommend over the bigger optical shops out there

Dr Martin McKenna provided a truly thorough eye testing service; he really knows his work and he used both manual methods as well as the latest diagnostic equipment to see what was happening for me. He is genuinely interested in new patients and after wearing glasses for 25 years, I gained new information about my eyes because he took the time to explain to me how my eyes see. I stumbled upon Birkdale Optical after negative experiences elsewhere. I was pleasantly surprised to discover such a professional and friendly practice. Martin communicates clearly and simply and there is no hint of the high pressure selling of extras and ancillaries common in other stores. I cannot recommend Birkdale Optical highly enough.
