Dr Nemetz is thee god of all avain medicine (really!). If you want your sick bird to live take him here. Yes, there are other options when it comes to avain vets in LA and I have seen ALL of them, and you know what? THEY take THEIR own birds to Nemetz! Okay, he is expensive but worth every penny. Had I not wasted time with two other board certified avian vets for 1 1/2 years, my baby would probably be alive today if he had seen Nemetz - I STRONGLY believe that. Dr. Nemetz can treat birds like no other vet in the OC. He has the diagnostic tools and expertise that the other vets do not have and he saved my bird's life. Birds are difficult to treat and sometimes you don't realize that they are sick until it's too late.
I can't say enough about Dr. Nemetz. He is an amazing and trustworthy avian vet and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my birds. He has taught me so much about caring for my birds, you can tell that he has a great love and passion for what he does.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR BIRD HERE! You will regret it on so many levels. He is over priced, arrogant and rude~ I feel so sorry for that woman that lost her bird but I'm not surprised. He uses animals like lab rats! Beware~ All I can say is Molnar in Calabassas. I don't care if you live 3 hours away, it's worth the drive. Dr. Nemetz should not be working with the public or animals.
My experience with Dr. Nemetz was purely traumatic. . He is incredibly disrespectful, condescending, and rude. I was willing to put up with it if it meant helping my bird. My bird died in his care and it could have totally been avoided. He is more concerned with financing his outlandish practice than he is with truly treating and caring for birds. Save your money, time, and beloved baby and see another avian vet.
Fantastic! Dr. Nemetz is one of just a handful of avian-only vets in the U.S. We are lucky to have him practicing in Southern California. His level of expertise and understanding of our feathered friends far surpasses any other vets in the LA/Orange County area. Our experience with Dr. Larry Nemetz was nothing short of traumatic. We brought our bird in for feather picking due to something he swallowed and after numerous visits, a minor procedure and then full blown surgery we are not only out over $4000 but my beautiful bird is still sick. We are now going to a different doctor to find answers and more importantly to be treated with some respect and compassion. His prices are higher than any other vet. Dr. Larry Nemetz, DVM and staff are wonderful. My cockatiel was very ill with a fungal infection and we did not think he was going to make it. Dr Nemetz was very good with him and very patient with us. Thanks to all our little guy is doing fine. I can not give high enough praise for these wonderful people.
Dr Nemetz is the best in the business and truly cares about his birdie patients.
