Dr. Nemetz is very knowledgeable, we brought in our Cockatiel with a growth under his wing, a lot of options to have, he's 15 years old, but I don't understand why he wasn't given a blood test or needle biopsy

The patient is avian, not the human. His or her care comes first. Dr. N is very straight forward about this and he has literally dedicated his life to avian medicine and it’s advancement. Our Lord Derby WOULD NOT be here if he had not spent three full months pre and post surgeries (yes multiple operations) hand feeding our fid around the clock, every 45 minutes, 7 days a week until he was stable enough for us to take over. He utilized his network of avian specialists from all over to help identify and treat our baby. Dr. N s... read more

Dr Nemetz is thee god of all avain medicine (really!). If you want your sick bird to live take him here. Yes, there are other options when it comes to avain vets in LA and I have seen ALL of them, and you know what? THEY take THEIR own birds to Nemetz! Okay, he is expensive but worth every penny. Had I not wasted time with two other board certified avian vets for 1 1/2 years, my baby would probably be alive today if he had seen Nemetz - I STRONGLY believe that. He has my new parrot from death by being aggressive in treatment... read more

Dr. Nemetz can treat birds like no other vet in the OC. He has the diagnostic tools and expertise that the other vets do not have and he saved my bird's life. Birds are difficult to treat and sometimes you don't realize that they are sick until it's too late.

I can't say enough about Dr. Nemetz. He is an amazing and trustworthy avian vet and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my birds. He has taught me so much about caring for my birds, you can tell that he has a great love and passion for what he does.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BIRD HERE! You will regret it on so many levels. He is over priced, arrogant and rude~ I feel so sorry for that woman that lost her bird but I'm not surprised. He uses animals like lab rats! Beware~ All I can say is Molnar in Calabassas. I don't care if you live 3 hours away, it's worth the drive. Dr. Nemetz should not be working with the public or animals.

My experience with Dr. Nemetz was purely traumatic. . He is incredibly disrespectful, condescending, and rude. I was willing to put up with it if it meant helping my bird. My bird died in his care and it could have totally been avoided. He is more concerned with financing his outlandish practice than he is with truly treating and caring for birds. Save your money, time, and beloved baby and see another avian vet.
