Infrastructure not stable enough to provide service to Washtenaw County area. Some days there isn't enough staf, others days the kiosks don't work.
This place has some nice people there but they are extremely understaffed! The donation itself takes roughly 45-60 minutes, the wait is more like 2-4 hours. Appointments aren't actually appointments, they are just place holders which is ridiculous on it's own. There should be a separate line and beds for appointments as opposed to walk-ins. Also, the techs have a real hard time getting the needle in the vein. I have given blood to red cross for years and never once had a problem with them getting a needle in my vein. Had an appointment before 3 In line waiting and there’s one woman Another comes to help since the line is so long She begins calling for help around 315 pm on the walkie letting ppl know there are two new donors, she’s off at 3:30 and the other sticker is unable to process new donors She calls multiple times with mumbled excuses in return By 350 she is still helping because not a single nurse or manager came to check in or offer a plan or help This is multiple times this week I’ve come in and left due to the line being insan... read more
I started donating for the 1st time a couple months ago. Everyone I have had contact with at the facility is very pleasant and professional. The facility is always very clean and smells sanitized. I enjoy donating to help others and putting money in my pocket.
I’ve been donating at this center for a few months short of a year now. The employees are always nice and friendly, but recently it is clear they are severely understaffed. I could be in and out in an hour and a half just months ago, but now I am regularly there for 3-4 hours. It is clear that management could care less about the workload they place on their workers, so I will be moving to another donation center until it’s fixed.
