My husband and I are pregnant for the first time and neither of us had a ton of prior knowledge when it came to any part of the birthing process. Through a stroke of luck (and under enrollment), we ended up getting to take the birthing and lactation classes with Karina all by ourselves. She was extremely supportive and answered our million questions very patiently. The lactation class was especially useful and made me feel really prepared for breastfeeding! We took a class at UHS and it was no where as detailed or helfpul!
My scenario for seeking doula services may be unique. This is my 3rd pregnancy and the first 2 births were c-section( emergency then planned). I had sought out a doctor that was willing to attempt a VBAC. I had met resistant from other providers so I was seeking another opinion to make sure the choice we were making was the safest option. I’m expecting my first child in about a month and we signed up for the virtual birth & baby class with Karina. I feel more empowered by knowing my options and the whole birthing process in general. Karina is so nice and helpful. I highly recommend!
