History Established in 1959. On December 19th 1959, Robert & Jennie Smilanich opened Bimbo's Pizza at its present location. Robert and Jennie were from Chisholm, Minnesota, where they retired in 1972. Their son Ron & his wife, Sue, now operate Bimbo's Pizza. Ron & Sue's son, Matthew, and his wife, Gayle, are going to be the third generation to operate Bimbo's Pizza. Pizza – Bimbo's is a Kalamazoo Institution. Growing up it was a treat reserved for payday. The thin crust, excellent sauce, not too spicy sausage is something I yearn for throughout my year as I now live in Texas. Heading home to Kalamazoo means heading to Bimbo's!
Good Pizza – Fun, cozy atmosphere, where you can watch what they do from the street. Not at all meager on the toppings either. Fun place to go and relax
