Best Vet I've ever had! My dog was very ill, unfortunately with a terminal disease. Dr. Nippert carefully explained the labwork, xrays, ultrasound, etc., he thought necessary to make the correct diagnosis. He didn't talk down to us, but did explain in terms a lay person could understand. When the diagnosis of cancer was made, he gave us options for supportive treatment, referrals to specialists and counselling regarding euthanasia when the quality of life was no longer acceptable to us. When the time came, he was there for u... read more

Owner Just this past saturday my 2 yr old yellow lab became ill, vomitting, not wanting to eat anything but grass. I took her to Dr.Nippert within 36 hours feeling that something just wasn't right. He did some bloodwork and told me in the office he felt it was an "upset tummy". 30 min later, I recieved a phone call that she had acute pancreatitis. Being an RN I was completly astonished. Not only at the diagnosis but that he wanted to do nothing but have her fast for 24 more hours and then re introduce water. No pain meds, no... read more

Great Veterinarian Dr. Nippert saved my best friend, Buddy. Buddy is a Boston Terrier that was raised by my girlfriend and I. He became ill, losing feeling in his back legs and was misdiagnosed as a spinal injury where we lived in Brooklyn, at Park Slope Animal Hospital. They refused to test for Lyme, which I suggested. They even said he may be paralyzed for life and should spend the night in the hospital. Also, x-rays were called for. This racked up to almost $1000, even after we declined his over-night stay. They said he m... read more

I would (and have) recommend Billings Animal Hospital I have five dogs so it was important to find a good vet who was affordable and flexible. After trying about 5 vets in the area, we decided upon Billings Animal Hospital and have stayed with them for years. Dr Nippert has time and time again proved he not only cares for the pets, but isn't out to 'rip you off'. He always chooses the most natural approach for my pet's health issues, not insisting on giving expensive tests unless it is absolutely necessary. He spends a great... read more

Billings Animal Hospital...Is a great Place to bring your pet! Billings Animal hospital is a wonderful place from the reasonable prices,to polite and friendly staff! I worked in a animal hospital for 8 years,I feel I know what to look for. Dr.Nippert's time he gives with educating the pet owner is wonderful,I have a dog who was nervous of strangers and he is very comfortable in this animal hospital. Also because your dog can't have a blanket to snuggle with is not cause for giving a bad review, its a dog not a child! And keepi... read more

Find another vet! My dog was spayed at Billings Animal Hospital, and I'd never go back. I'd brought her little blanket to comfort her since the vet there still routinely keep spays overnight (not common practice among other local vets). They wouldn't let me leave the blanket or even an old shirt with my scent with her! They sent her home the next day without any pain medication, and when we got home my dog wouldn't eat or do anything other than huddle in a corner. I ended up having to take her to the emergency clinic, where ... read more

Stay away I would never do this if I did not think it was absolutely necessary, but I am negatively commenting on this establishment. I wouldn't even give it 1 star, but the system makes you choose that at least to enter your review. This hospital may be ok for routine vet care, but not when problems arise. When Dr. Nippert used to do orthopedic surgery he operated on our dog and lost a drillbit inside it's leg. He said it was harmless, however she ended up dying from cancer in her leg in that very spot a few years later. We... read more
