Bill Mathews Autobody and Powder coating is a family owned and operated auto repair business and has served Springfield and the surrounding area since 1972. In 2006 the shop was leveled by a tornado however the shop was completely rebuilt and updated to better serve the needs of our customers. We provide complete collision repair, mechanical and we also offer sand blasting and powder coating. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service, friendly family environment and the highest quality repairs.

friendly service and went above an beyond. vacuumed truck and washed it. everything that got replaced was done perfectly . technician Ron does top notch work!
For some context, I have used this shop before and was not impressed. I was forced to use it again and was more disappointed. In 2017 I had some road debris hit my 2017 Ford Mustang, I was assured they could "buff it out" and if they couldn't, parts would be replaced and "made right". The repair was completed. I went to pick up the vehicle and was shown that they burned through the paint in three spots. The "shop foreman/estimator" let me know that the "painter should have caught that" which I agreed. Did a great job on a difficult project. excellent finish work.
I started using Matthews Auto Body for my collision repairs in 1980 and stayed with them because Bob, the owner always said whatever it takes for me to be satisfied, he will do. I once was unhappy with some paint work because of a subtle flaw and he repainted it without question.
The worst experience I've ever had with an auto body shop! I have never left a poor review ever in my life, but this shop has shown me what truly poor customer service is. 37 days they had my vehicle and said vehicle broke down 7 miles away....7 miles.
Excellent body shop! I was struck by a deer while sitting still, blew the airbags, and they repaired it. Hit a deer carcus on a bridge, and they repaired it. Was hit in the passenger side by a deer, and they repaired it. And last night my wife hit a deer, so I am taking it to Bill Matthew again, so he can repair it. I am a picky bastard. If, after all these repairs, Mathews did a bad job, I would not go back. But each time, they make it look like nothing happened, which is how it is supposed to be.
I have traded here for years, and wouldn't go anywhere else! Today I had to go over to get an estimate for some damage to the car that happened on Saturday at Walmart. They went to look at it and came in and said they could buff it out. A few minutes later they brought my car around and it was like brand new again! I asked how much I would owe and he said "nothing"! Who says that is this day and age? They have a customer for life!
Don't go here there head painter is a joke his name is Billy Muchow he is a meth addict and a total drunk he has to drink in the morning just to stop shaking! Also he likes to try and steal people's girls away so make sure you don't introduce him to your girl he messaged my fiance several times on Facebook trying to get her to sleep with him even tho he has his own family!
