When you buy a bicycle you are buying a bicycle shop i.e. the support you get from the local bike shop (LBS), whether that be parts, maintenance and repair, or information on good local places to ride. You don't get that support from big box stores and you certainly don't get it from Amazon. Here on Kent Island we are lucky to have a fantastic LBS in Bike Doctor of KI. Excellent, excellent, EXCELLENT customer service!! We're new to the Kent Island area and wanted to purchase two bikes for our girls. We had already purchased bikes off of Amazon but still wanted to shop around locally just to compare -- we visited the Bike Doctor and the owner was so so kind.
